Around 200,000 hip operations are performed in Germany every year. In 2013, Annette Frieboes-Esalnik decided to take
this far-reaching step for everyone concerned. She wrote down her thoughts and experiences before and
after the operation to encourage all those who are still facing this experience.
With appropriate seriousness,
but still full of humour, she tells of the difficulties of accepting diagnosis and therapy, the fears and doubts
in the clinic, the hardships of the level in rehab and the ultimate relief of having made the right decision.
An encouraging book for all hip sufferers!
»Nevertheless, this is the time. A new hip is needed. Urgently. Yet I'm only forty-four years old - still far too young for a hip.«
»The author needed an artificial hip at the age of 44. In her book, she reports on her experiences
in an honest, often humorous way: on fears and doubts before the operation, the experiences in the clinic
and the efforts of rehab. An encouragement for all in a similar situation.«
