Berlin in 2011. Jasmin has a tense relationship with her family: Her mother Maria hardly ever talks to her and she has never met her father. Digging in her uncle’s backyard one afternoon, she discovers a human skeleton. Jasmin confronts her family with her terrible discovery and finally learns the truth about her life and her past.
Jasmin´s family lead a smuggling ring in the 70s and helped Jasmin´s father Mahmoud illegally migrate to Germany via East Berlin. Her mother and Mahmoud fell in love and married, but their happiness did not last. After Jasmin´s birth Mahmoud did not end his involvement in illegal businesses and put all of their lives in jeopardy.
